Training days in Gran Canaria Moda Cálida

26/11/2018

ACME and the Cabildo de Gran Canaria organize training sessions for a score of designers and companies adhering to the Gran Canaria Moda Cálida program in order to expand their knowledge in economic management, sales and textile production to reconcile creative talent with management business, a fundamental part of the development of a fashion brand.

Pepa Bueno, executive director of ACME, was responsible for coordinating this training activity in order to offer designers a more complete view of the sector and the fashion business, an area that is often neglected, because a company is not only design, but is also business management.

Three great experts in management of SMEs and fashion micro-companies accompanied the director of ACME at the conference:

  • Daniel Sánchez, consultant and economic adviser to a range of fashion, textile and beauty companies. He was Ángel Schlesser’s manager for almost 20 years. He was in charge of giving a presentation on economic management and administration.
  • José Manuel Prieto, who was the commercial director of Amaya Arzuaga for more than two decades, as well as sales agent and sales manager of companies such as TCN and THE 2ND SKIN & CO, gave training on sales and distribution.
  • Carlos Rui Wamba, manager of CPTEX Bilbao, Textile Manufacturing Center, that works for leading fashion companies, both local and global, and was manager of Miriam Ocariz for 16 years, shared with the attendees his extensive knowledge on textile production.

The Cabildo of Gran Canaria was the first institution to join the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España as a partner after signing an agreement that took place in April 2018 between the Councilor Minerva Alonso and the President of ACME, Modesto Lomba.

The initiative has allowed ACME to act since then as a consultant for Gran Canaria Moda Cálida and also for companies that adhere to this program, especially those that have a profile with national scope. So these training days are one of the activities provided by this agreement in order to advise the Island’s fashion talents regarding fashion promotion and marketing.[:]
