Pilar Dalbat closes the off calendar of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid with her “Vega” collection. The memories of summer nights enjoyed by the designer in the riverbed (vega in Spanish) of her hometown, Granada, serve as inspiration for her seasonal spring/summer 2024 fashion proposals. The same riverbed evoked in Federico García Lorca’s poems.
The fashion creator presents a collection with controlled volumes, fitted lines and fluid skirts where the color palette, bright yellow, green tones and metallic nuances, reflect the chromatic diversity of the riverbed’s protected natural landscape. Combined fabrics, from methacrylate to tweed, linen and airy gauze, give a fresh and renewed vision while maintaining the fashion brand’s essence.
Vests and peaks, icons of the brand, have reappeared in her designs with transparencies and new textures, which make up most of the spring line of the collection. As a commitment to the environment and responsible fashion, Pilar Dalbat has collaborated with Héctor Lara, who has developed the jewellery using 3D printing and sustainable filaments composed of recycled wood and PLA biodegradable polymer.
