Leandro Cano participated for the first time in the EGO platform of Madrid Fashion Week in 2012 and months later he was selected to present a fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin as finalist of the contest “Designer for Tomorrow”, of which he was proclaimed winner receiving a scholarship to develop a collection under the advice of Marc Jacobs.
His creations escape trends seeking exclusivity. His work is defined by originality, a taste for detail and the application of craft techniques. The creator is committed to sustainable and responsible production, as well as the use of natural fibres such as wool. His work in this regard earned him the nomination to the International Woolmark Prize of 2016. In 2017 he was proclaimed winner of Who’s on Next of Vogue Spain, which featured journalist Suzy Menkes and designer Alber Elbaz as members of the jury.[:]
