Spanish design, featured in unique places in Madrid

02/02/2020

Spanish design is once again the guiding thread of unique and talent-filled activities during Madrid es Moda. Activities that bring together fashion creation with different disciplines such as gastronomy, art, literature or music.

Exhibitions in museums, libraries and hotels complete the fashion show schedule of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, and become the best scenarios to showcase our fashion designer’s creations. Such is the case of Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, the designer of the image of the Xth edition, who shows a retrospective exhibit of the archive of its foundation at the Eugenio Trías Municipal Public Library in Retiro Park. Until February 9th you can enjoy live and direct the brand’s most iconic garments, authentic works of art on the mannequins of Maniquíes DiCapo.

Accessories, fashion’s great allies, will also have their role in the exhibition «Complementary. Beyond Fashion» that aims to value and give visibility to accessories and their creative process. Young talents, together with designers with a more established trajectory, showcase their pieces in a very special and emblematic place for design lovers, DIMAD. The Design Center of Matadadero Madrid becomes, until February 23rd, a window shop of creation and Spanish design with the following participants, Candela CortPeralta del AmoCecilia ZavalaCorres MadridCova RíosCristina ArmesillaDiana MartínezDsnú, Grecia Llorens, Lala de Dios, Indigo Estudio Textil , Loyto Watches , Carmela Peralta del Amo, Romo Donaire, Sara López Vázquez, Sedanía and U-ak (Marta Pascual Caballero).

Other unique places where you can enjoy Spanish fashion during the Urban Fashion Festival’s celebration, are the Unique Hotel of Madrid, an old 19th century mansion in the Barrio de Salamanca, which houses in its space The Bar, a costumes and photographs exhibit of Miguel Marinero’s signature label. And the largest gastronomic leisure centre in Europe, Platea, also presents in several market corners some of the garments and photographs of the “Reminiscence” project by designer Fely Campo.

And last but not least, the Cerralbo Museum hosts a «Gala Dinner» in exhibit format with some of the most spectacular couture pieces by DuyosRoberto Verino, Hannibal LagunaJuana Martín and Claro Fernando. See news and images.

Take note of these and other fashion plans on the Madrid es Moda website.
