DOMINNICO BECOMES A NEW ACME ASSOCIATE

26/11/2021

Domingo Rodríguez Lázaro, founder and creative director of Dominnico, joins the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España, which brings together the most prominent designer fashion firms in Spain. This young creator joins ACME due to the agreement reached in 2014 between Vogue and the Association so that the winners of the Who’s on Next award become associates of said professional organization. With his arrival, Dominnico joins Mans, Carlota Barrera, Juan Vidal, Maria Ke Fisherman, ManéMané, Moisés Nieto, Leandro Cano and Palomo Spain, also winners of this prestigious award, and who already are members of the Association.

For the designer, his arrival at the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España means surrounding himself with prominent professionals in the fashion creator’s sector whom he admires and respects. “I am really happy to be a part of ACME, an organization that includes great professionals from the world of author fashion and now I have the great honour of being with them. Working as a team for the interests that we all defend seems to me key to give continuity and evolution to Brand Spain”.

At just 27 years old, Dominnico has won the most prestigious award for new creators in Spain, which in its last edition had Edward Enninful as president of the jury. Thus, Dominnico is presented as one of the leading promises of Spanish design, having conquered celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Rita Ora, Rosalía or Aitana, which has given him great visibility in social networks and local and global media.

Based in Barcelona, Dominnico aims to address a heterogeneous audience. The values of inclusion and freedom are the common thread of all his collections. Meticulousness patterns, research in new fabrics and materials, sustainability in the processes and a futuristic vision of fashion, characterize the work of this young fashion creator.

Dominnico’s first collection, titled “Unusual Dichotomy”, was presented in Budapest on the European Fashion Union platform. During the following year, his brand gained popularity within the fashion world which led him to present his second collection, “Revolution & Decadence”, at EGO in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, a platform in which a year later he stood as the winner of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent award with his “Harajuku Kids” collection, a proposal that he also had the opportunity to present at the Fashion Week in Tiblisi (Georgia).
