An archipielago converted into a textile dream

16/09/2025

Juan Duyos presented his unprecedented Spring 2026 collection, “Wonderland-Canary Islands,” at Madrid es Moda. A proposal that once again focuses on the designer’s islandic universe, bringing his imagery to an intimate and surprising setting: the Claustro del Pozo at the IES San Isidro.

Inspired by the diversity and cultural richness of the Canary Islands, the collection is conceived as an ode to light, nature, and plural beauty. Thirty-eight models embody the uniqueness of each island, reaffirming the idea that fashion is also a language of identity and belonging. The fashion show thus becomes a celebration of fusion and individuality, with subtle references to the tradition and vitality that define the Canarian spirit.

Oversized silhouettes with an 1980s feel coexist with free draping, overlays, and bows reminiscent of the 1970s. The color palette explores the archipelago’s landscape: light white, sunshine yellow, sunset pink, Tajinaste burgundy, sand amber, laurel green, and sky blue. In the fabrics, the island’s flora is embodied in cotton jacquards, organza devorés, metallic embroidery, prints on linen, striped taffetas, georgettes, wool crêpe, and silk knit.

Duyos’s design reaffirms his emotional connection with the Canary Islands and offers a sensitive tribute to its diversity, transformed into a textile territory full of imagination and color.
