How to sketch a map of your talent

The Hotel Vincci The Mint located on Madrid’s Gran Vía, is the place chosen to celebrate a new breakfast within the cycle “60 minutes of fashion with EFE Style”. The meeting enjoyed the presence of Pepa Bueno, Executive Director of ACME; Ignacio Sierra, Corporate CEO of Cortefiel Group; Magali Yus, Communications Fashion & Beauty El Corte Ingles, and the Spanish designer Juan Duyos.

The central theme of this breakfast is to launch Campus Fashion, the first training course of international excellence in the field of fashion targeted to pre-university students. “There are many young people who live by and for fashion, they have a lot of information but they need to channel it so not to trivialize regarding the textile industry,” explains Magali Yus.

“The fashion industry generates 2.8% of GDP,” assures Pepa Bueno during the breakfast. A figure that reflects the significant number of professionals in the sector, and which demands a youthful workforce to nurture the value chain of the industry. “Spain is very powerful in fashion,” says Ignacio Sierra, Corporate CEO of Cortefiel Group, who warns that in this business you must be knowledgeable in everything, “from the cost of the fabric to what it costs to place a garment in the shop”.

The textile industry is constantly evolving and “the most important issue is training,” says creator Juan Duyos. He will be one of the ACME designers to share his experience with students of the first edition of Campus Fashion, to be held from 2nd to 16th July at the headquarters of the Francisco de Vitoria University in Pozuelo de Alarcón. Also attending will be creators Modesto Lomba, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Roberto Torretta, Juanjo Oliva, Victorio & Lucchino, Maya Hansen and Maria Barros, among other relevant professionals in the sector.
