Calle Conde Duque becomes a runway

22/09/2016

Spanish fashion has a future that walked down the runway in the centre of Madrid. The Cultural Centre Conde Duque and the Centro Superior de Diseño de Moda en Madrid (CSDMM) of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) held a single fashion show in calle Conde Duque directed by designer Ana Locking.

More than sixty unedited pieces, designed by the students of this school, were showcased on a runway, 56 meters long, located in the central street of the capital. Manuel Blanco, director of CSDMM, acted as artistic director of this initiative that aims to give greater visibility to the work of young promising designers of our country. This event is part of the commemorative project of the 30th anniversary of the college and enjoyed once again the presence and support of the President of ACME, Modesto Lomba.

The Association maintains a close relationship with CSDMM and is a member of its board. In three decades of history, more than a thousand students have been trained in their classrooms, including ACME designers such as Amaya Arzuaga and Maya Hansen, and creators such as Ana Locking, Juan Vidal, Miguel Becer or Daniel Rabaneda, among others, are members of the faculty.

The Centro Superior de Diseño de Moda en Madrid (CSDMM) attached to the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), imparts a University Degree in Fashion Design and is the only one to offer a doctoral program related to fashion in Spain and Europe.
