Pilar Dalbat, Yerma’s thirst

08/09/2026

Pilar Dalbat presented Yerma, her Spring/Summer 2027 collection, at OMODA Madrid es Moda, in a fashion show held at the headquarters of the Official College of Architects of Madrid (COAM). The collection draws inspiration from the work of Federico García Lorca and Granada’s emotional landscape on the eve of the centenary of famed literary Generation of ’27, translating the aridity, the suppressed desire, and Yerma’s ritual into a language of handcrafted, emotional fashion. Dalbat reads Mediterranean femininity through a contemporary lens.

Yerma, Lorca’s play about the longing for unfulfilled motherhood, lends the collection its central tension: the waiting, the contained strength, the symbolism. Dalbat translates this emotional conflict into the realm of creation, with Granada as a reference point. The collection reinterprets Mediterranean femininity from this contemporary perspective, with Yerma as its emotional and symbolic starting point.

Natural fabrics, transparencies, embroidery, and dyes evoke the passage of time and the intensity of the Andalusian landscape. Column dresses, flowing capes, and soft corsetry create subtle movement silhouettes.

The centenary of Generation of ’27 places the collection beyond the season: Dalbat translates Lorca’s text into garment construction, embroidery, and dyeing, rather than a literal quote.
