Gonzales, under the creative direction of Carmen González, unveiled *MRRÍA*, its eleventh lingerie collection at Estudio DIIR during OMODA Madrid es Moda’s event. The presentation is part of a collaboration between Gran Canaria Moda Cálida; Gran Canaria Island Council’s initiative to promote local fashion, and ACME.
*MRRÍA* draws upon the codes of lingerie and corsetry, transforming them into visual vocabulary across fifteen looks. to reinterpret Rafael Arozarena’s novel *Mararía*. The collection is structured around five narrative archetypes that trace the protagonist’s transformation and the forces that shape her: desire, stigma, silence, erosion, and, ultimately, salt, representing permanence after the soul has departed the body. The creative direction incorporates thistle flower as a visual metaphor for beauty that endures the passage of time.
Dresses, lingerie pieces, corsetry, and lightweight constructions engage in a dialogue, with lingerie acting as the unifying thread, to craft a singular narrative centered on the body as well as the myth.
*MRRÍA* extends the use of lingerie and corsetry as structural elements of Gonzales’s work, which the firm evolves, collection after collection, towards new forms of dressing.
