Pilar Dalbat presented on October 17th, CROISE 2027 | FUERTEVENTURA, the first cruise collection from the Granada-based firm, was showcased during the closing fashion show of the fifth edition of Fuerteventura Fashion Week, where the designer acted as the guest of honor. Presented at Hotel Mirador de Fuerteventura, the collection stems from an encounter between Granada and the island, bringing to the winter season the essence of an Atlantic summer.
For this collection, designer Pilar Torrecillas stepped away from the House’s signature color palette. Shades of aqua green, dusty pink, navy blue, and red, drawn from Fuerteventura’s landscape, converge with black, the brand’s hallmark color, thus bridging the new with the enduring. Stripes introduce a nautical, graphic element.
Craftsmanship does not change. Hand-embroidery, a signature of Pilar Dalbat, appears on garments designed for travel and changing environments. The theme of travel extends to the accessories, which include small paper boat motifs, alongside a new line of leather handbags in various colors. Light, the expansive horizon, and the ever-present ocean were all integral to the scenography.
Pilar Torrecillas founded the firm in Granada over two decades ago. From there, she has constructed her work, whereby fashion engages in a dialogue with Andalusia’s architecture, heritage, and cultural landscape, extending well beyond the confines of the runway. This deep connection to the city has also led her to support Granada’s bid to become a European Capital of Culture in 2031.
With CROISE 2027, the firm adopts a format historically associated with major international fashion houses: presenting collections outside the traditional seasonal calendar and linking them to a specific destination. This is the first time Pilar Dalbat has expanded her creative calendar in this manner, and so she does by bringing Granada to the Atlantic.
