MBFWM says goodbye until the next edition

22/09/2015

All the collections are named after a woman and today we have been introduced to Hiroko. Eclectic, fresh and brave, Juan Vidal is inspired by Japanese xylography and by Hiroko Matsumoto, the first oriental model that paraded in the fashion week in Paris. Prints with lilies and influences by the work of Paul Gauguin coexist with sailor stripes in what is his first immersion into swimwear, materialized in collaboration with PALE Swimwear. A very feminine and uninhibited proposal that translates into airy slip dresses, ample skirts fitted at the waist and transparencies made up of delicate lace.

Maya Hansen presents a collection inspired by the dark jungles of Central America. Black Jungle is a proposal plagued with tropical prints that are mixed with a gothic aesthetic. Two opposite poles that are attracted on the runway, in which the designer deploys again her know-how with the corset, on this occasion made of stretch fabrics that make it more comfortable. Biker jackets and skinny trousers become the star pieces of her collection made of neoprene, mesh and quilted effects. A modern and cosmopolitan vision in which black and a wide range of greens take over her palette.

Dolores Cortés presents a collection inspired in the beach style of California during the 90s. The designer from Valencia showcases on the catwalk swimsuits of linear and geometric cuts. Her pieces for the summer of 2016 play with transparencies and layering of fabrics that are filled with golden laminates and coloured lacquers providing a glam-chic touch. Black and white are the base of kinetic and animal prints. An entire imbrue of sophistication that puts a full stop to the 62nd edition of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid for the designers of ACME.
