Let’s talk about FASHION. About when fashion is clothing, but above all when fashion is Culture, when it is Art. Lets talk about Fashion from Spain. About when it was relevant, influential and influenced. Of aspirational fashion and its democratization. Catwalks, trends, prescribers, designers and great dressmakers always overshadowed by the former. Fashion as a testimony of the past. A symbol of distinction, or self-distinction with symbols and logos. Fashion upholding emancipation and social struggles. An expression of freedom. Fashion we see in paintings, on Instagram, and fashion arisen in the street. That ‘which is Spanish’ in fashion and of our contemporary Spanish dressmakers. The great fashion brands present, and the small, forgotten trades. Lets talk about sustainable fashion, and fashion that is not so sustainable. About nakedness and having to dress the skin. Crafts and industry. Whether we are free to choose our own clothes. Fashion without gender, and genres in fashion… Lets talk about Fashion in Museums and Fashion Museums. Lets talk about Spanish Fashion, a fashion that always has been PRESENT.
