Zambra: Lime, Copper, and Compass

22/01/2026

ZAMBRA; Lime, Copper, and Compass is an expository project by Pilar Dalbat in collaboration with the Foundation Caja Rural Granada. The exhibition opens today in Sala Zaida and will be on display until February 21st.

The exhibit stems from the Zambra collection, presented at the last edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, and which translates to the expository space an investigation into the Sacromonte zambra, understood as a living cultural practice. The project observes the cave’s architecture, the rituals, and the compass from a contemporary perspective, using fashion as a narrative language.

The exhibition is structured around three conceptual materials—lime, copper, and the compass—which organize, with no hierarchy, the proposal. Fashion pieces, jewelry, crafts, historical documents, photography, and audiovisual material coexist in the gallery, creating a leisurely, engaging experience.

The exhibition features embroidery developed in Granada’s workshops, historical bobbin lace, and traditional textiles, alongside the fashion firm’s first jewelry collection, created by artisan María Soto. The project enjoys the collaboration of Zambra María “La Canastera”, the Sacromonte Caves Museum, as well as the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España.

ZAMBRA; Lime, Copper, and Compass may be visited from January 22nd to February 21st, 2026, Monday to Friday, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Zaida Room of the Caja Rural Granada Foundation addressed in Acera del Darro 1.
