The event organized by the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España and Museo del Traje during OMODA Madrid es Moda (Madrid Fashion Week) featured a discussion about the memory and creative legacy of David Delfín. Titled “Show Your Wound,” the program included a panel discussion, a documentary screening, and an exhibit in the museum’s lobby, which will be open to the public during Madrid Fashion Week.
The event began with a conversation between Ana Locking, Vice President of the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España (ACME), and Rafael Muñoz Rodríguez, who discussed Delfín’s work from a professional perspective as well as through shared memories. This was followed by a screening of the documentary “David Delfín: Show Your Wound,” directed by César Vallejo de Castro, Ángela Gallardo Bernal, and Rafael Muñoz Rodríguez himself. Produced by RTVE, the film reconstructs Delfín’s creative universe through images, testimonials, and archival footage.
The day continued with David Delfín’s exhibit. “In Transit“, promoted by ACME and curated by Josep Casamartina i Parassols and Ismael Núñez Muñoz. The exhibit format is an installation based on the concept of transit as displacement and transformation, inspired by the Déménagement fashion show (2007–2008). It is structured as a large-scale installation constructed from the museum’s own professional transport crates.
Between ten and twenty pieces—dresses, ensembles, and coats—appear suspended in this temporary space, accompanied by objects and accessories displayed in glass cases. Several come from the Fundació Antoni de Montpalau, along with two designs from the museum’s collection, including the dress worn by Letizia Ortiz before she became The Queen.
The exhibition transforms the act of moving, storing, or transporting a garment into a clear metaphor: Delfín’s work continues to travel.
