Moisés Nieto wins the Madrid Capital de Moda Award

11/12/2020

Designer Moisés Nieto has been the winner of the first edition of the Madrid Capital de Moda Award 2020. This fashion platform aims to highlight the enormous talent and the particular approach of the creator from Jaen towards fashion.

Other big names in Spanish design such as our Associates Ángel Schlesser and Juanjo Oliva complete the roster of finalists together with creator Ernesto Naranjo and fashion brand The 2nd Skin Co.

This Award, worth 60.000 €, rewards the development of a business and creative project, which includes in its content the mentoring and tutoring of a student in the last year, or recently graduated in the last year, in disciplines related to the fashion sector (intern), who will collaborate with the designer in the implementation of the project presented.

The Madrid Capital de Moda 2020 Award is yet another example of the commitment of Deputy Mayor Begoña Villacís as well as delegate Miguel Ángel Redondo towards Spanish author fashion, with the close collaboration of ACME.

In this first edition, the jury has been made up of different personalities from the world of fashion and authorities such as Eduardo Zamácola (President of ACOTEX), Pepa Bueno (Executive Director of the Asociación de Creadores de Moda), Nuria de Miguel (Director of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid), Concha Díaz de Villegas (General Director of Commerce and Hospitality of Madrid’s City Council), Olga Ruiz (General Deputy Director of Commerce and Markets of Madrid’s City Council), Beatriz Santaolalla (Head of the Commercial Innovation Service and Discipline of Madrid’s City Council), Eugenia de la Torriente (Director of Vogue), Pilar Riaño (Director of Modaes.es), María Ballesteros (General Director of Cultural Programs and Activities of Madrid’s City Council), Beatriz González and Ainhoa García.

The objective of Madrid Capital de Moda is to promote projects gathered within the framework of fashion, art, decoration and gastronomy, which are held within the capital, but at the same time also attainable for internationalizing the city by supporting initiatives such as this to give Madrid greater visibility worldwide.
