The first of many

29/02/2016

In this life it is not good to exaggerate, but I don’t think I do at all when I say that the first closing party of Madrid es Moda was a success. A success because it gathered over 300 people, because the designers attended punctually and diligently the engagement at Iberostar Hotel de las Letras accompanied by muses or friends who dressed their creations, because the professionals from the sector did not want to miss it and because magazine Hola!, and its different divisions (hola.com, HolaTV and HolaFashion) deployed all their teams to record the event.

Since in ACME it was decided that fashion week should be reflected in the city through all kinds of activities in the centre of the capital, which is precisely what Madrid es Moda is, we talked about organizing a big closing party. At first we didn’t succeed, but we did at second. The key was the enthusiasm of the entire team of the Hotel de las Letras, which from the outset saw clearly the importance of organizing an event that will add a golden finishing touch to five days of fashion shows. And of course, the enthusiasm of Hola!, a privileged witness to the party.

Some might say that there are already too many parties, why another one. However, I think the fact that there is a desire to celebrate and place value upon Spanish design is not frivolous and is never enough. No effort is small if we give visibility to a sector, Spanish fashion design, which struggles valiantly to exist and maintain itself. So, welcome parties, whether opening or closing Madrid Fashion Week. Of course, this one of which I speak has a vocation for continuity. From here I would ask you along to the next one in September.
